George Soros returned as a leading donor of the Democratic Party politics. This was after his unprecedented spending spree of $27 million, in 2014, which aimed to defeat President George W. Bush. Soros donated over $25 million to boost Hillary Clinton, a Democratic presidential nominee, and the other candidates of the party. For instance, Tom Meyer, an environmentalist from San Francisco donated $31 million in 2016 whereas Don Sussman, a New York hedge funder, donated $13.2 to several campaigns. These contributions helped Hillary’s campaign to establish a massive financial advantage over Donald Trump. George Soros gave $7 million to Priorities USA Action, a super PAC supporting Hillary Clinton. Additionally, he planned to give out an extra $3 million to the group.
